08/13/2010 Auto Fire/Auto
Accident

Two calls for the day starting at 14:57
p.m. with an auto fire on the PA Turnpike with 21 units
responding to 190.8 eastbound for reported vehicle fire, PA
Turnpike employees arrived on the scene prior to fire units
arriving determined that fire was contained to the brake system
and no service was needed from company 21. Returned to service
at 15:14 p.m. Later that evening at 23:49 p.m. Company 21 units
responded to the 5800 block Path Valley Road for a reported auto
accident, units arrived on the scene with one auto off the
roadway into a utility pole, patient was packaged and
transported to the local medical facility by ambulance 21-8 with
the remainder of the units returning to service at 00:25 a.m.

Fire
Company 21 units was called to 31000 block
hollow road to assist Huntington County Company 14 with a
reported dwelling fire at 14:45 p.m. Company 14 units arrived at
the scene to find that homeowners had a food fire on the stove
and that no service was need from Company 21 units placing our
units available at 15:06 p.m.

block Pine Avenue at 21:57 p.m. for a reported tree fire due to
wires units arrived on the scene the local electric company was
contacted to take care of the wires with units going available
at 22:15 p.m.

Valley Road at 12:13 p.m. to set up a landing zone for lifenet
8-1 to transport a patient from ambulance 21-8 to a local trauma
center with units returning to service at 12:43 p.m.

New Bridge Road at 23:45 p.m. to assist Company 12 for a
reported house fire units arrived on the scene determined it
was a false alarm with all units returning to service at 00:34

Fannettsburg Road East reported trees on wires at 13:51 p.m.
units arrived on the scene to find one large tree blocking the
roadway engine crew removed the tree from the roadway before

ACCIDENT
21-2 and Ambulance 21-8 responded to the
11000 block Richmond Road at 05:10 a.m. for a reported auto
accident units arrived on the scene to find that the vehicle had
already left the location at which time Company 21 units
returned to service.

block Dogwood Drive, Ft. Loudon to assist Company 9 with
reported garage fire next the residents at 13:39 pm. Company 9
arrived on the scene determined service was not need from

p.m.

Pa turnpike for a reported auto accident at 2:44 a.m. prior to
units arriving on the scene pa turnpike personnel arrived on the

Patients was air lifted to local trauma center, a landing zone

for life net 8-1 with all units returning to service at 3:42
a.m.

alarm, units arrived on the scene to find no fire service

At 14:32 a.m. Engine 21-2 responded to the
intersection of Upper Strasburg Road and Lower Horse Valley Road
to assist Company 11 with a reported auto overturned. Units
arrived on the scene to find one auto on its roof blocking west
bound lane. 21-2 was on the scene for a short time assisting
Company 11 personnel before returning to service at 4:50 a.m.

Engine 21-1 was called to Keefer Road in
Letterkenny Township at 17:58 p.m. to assist Company 11 Pleasant
Hall for reported trees down on wires with fire while in route
command 11 arrived on the scene determined no serviced
was needed from us so engine 21-1 returned to service at 18:22
p.m.

Auto Accident

Engine 21-2 and ambulance 21-8 alerted to
the 2300 block Path Valley Road at 8:14am for a reported auto
accident, units arrived on the scene to find one auto side
swiped a utility pole into an embankment on north bound
shoulder, fire & EMS personnel took care of patient refusal,
traffic control, and all roadway hazards before returning to
service at 8:55 a.m.

Company 21 was called to 10891 Poplar
Avenue for reported mobile home fire at 04:00 a.m. units arrived
on the scene to find a mobile home fully engulfed, due to the
integrity of the structure an exterior attack was performed with
the assistance of Company 12, Company 11, Company 18, Company 9,
Huntington County Company 14, and air 53, units remained on the
scene until 06:16 a.m. mopping up hot spots and overhauling.

Huntington County on the Mountain Foot Road at 11:19 a.m. for a
reported brush fire prior to our unit arriving on the scene
Company 12 advised no service was needed from us therefore

Path Valley Road for a reported wood pile fire next to a
structure at 2:20 a.m. Prior to units arriving on the scene the
incident turned out to be a controlled burn, the property
owner did not want the fire extinguished so all units was

Company 21 responded to 5500 block Fox
Road at 14:01 p.m. for a reported mountain fire, units arrived
on the scene to find approximately 3/4 to 1 acre burning. Hand
lines were advanced to the north and the south extinguishing the
fire assisted by Company 18, Company 9, Company 12 personnel.
Units remained on the scene mopping up hot spots returning to
service at 16:03 p.m.

While Company 21 units worked a house fire
on Amberson Road the 21-02 box was sounded for a vehicle
accident on Richmond Road at Acacia Trail. Transfer engine 43
responded to the scene with Ambulance 21-8, 9-8 and Medic 118.
Units arrived to find two vehicles with 2 patients and 2
refusals. Crew from Engine 43 assisted with patient packaging
and controlled hazards. Going into service a short time later
